Dress to the theme to be in the running!

The theme for Celebrate Mooroolbark 2020 is…….

Red Earth Awakened – 40 years on…

From retro rides to futuristic imaginingsCelebrate Mooroolbark 2020 is going to be a party like no other.

It was 1980 when the Mooroolbark Community Centre was opened, with a festival which was to be called the Red Earth Festival. It was a huge success and became the largest festival in Victoria. The last Red Earth Festival took place in 2001 and from small beginnings, Celebrate Mooroolbark took its place in 2002.
Our theme Red Earth Awakened – 40 Years On… is celebrating 40 years of both festivals in Mooroolbark; looking at the history of our festivals, at where we are at today and where we will be in another 40 years. (We know one thing for sure, we won’t have a level crossing and we will have a sky rail!)
So what makes us uniquely Mooroolbark? We love a good festival! So pick your decade and dress to party!

Entrants’ costumes will be judged after the completion of the parade and two groups will be awarded prizes by longtime Celebrate Mooroolbark supporter, Federal Minister for Casey, Tony Smith MP.
