We look forward to reading your entries!

THEME ANNOUNCED FOR 2019

shutterstock_2215941551

Thank you to all who voted on Facebook regarding our festival theme for 2019. We were inspired by your enthusiasm for the local heroes idea and it gave us a lot to consider.

We are delighted to announce that we have made a decision. The theme for Celebrate Mooroolbark 2019 is…….

Dare to Dream!

This year we are focusing on local groups and individuals who contribute to the Mooroolbark community. We want to share the stories of the innovators and risk-takers who inspire us.

It could be a shop owner who is always welcoming and friendly or a business that operates according to the principles of mutual profitability (concerned for both the wellbeing of the community and the environment).

A volunteer organisation which is giving of themselves for the safety of our community or helping others achieve their goals.

A child with a unique gift of sharing and consideration for others.

A dedicated teacher or mentor who motivates you, or a caregiver who encourages and supports you.

Someone you admire or who you are proud to know. Those unsung heroes who may not have actually set out to improve the lives of others, and might not even realise they are making a difference.

ANYONE WHO IS FOLLOWING THEIR DREAMS OR HELPING YOU TO FOLLOW YOURS!

We are interested to hear your interpretations of the theme. We know there are local people who aren’t afraid to reach for the sky, but is there a technology or invention that has changed your life for the better?

An idea or special cause that you support and want to involve your fellow community members?

What inspires you? Who inspires you? Leave your answers in the comments below.
